GENERAL COMMENTS

Roja Safartabar is a family lawyer, accredited Family Law Mediator, and certified Collaborative Divorce Lawyer practising at Daykin Walker Kaderly Wahid LLP in Vancouver. Roja obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Communications, with First Class Honours and Distinction, from Simon Fraser University in 2011, and her Juris Doctor from the University of British Columbia in 2014. She was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2015. Before joining DWKW in 2024, Roja spent the first decade of her legal career at a leading regional full-service law firm. Roja has extensive experience in all aspects of family law, including separation and divorce, property and debt division, spousal and child support, parenting arrangements, and the negotiation and drafting of cohabitation, marriage, and separation agreements. She has particular experience navigating complex financial matters involving high-net-worth individuals, trusts, business interests, intricate income and support issues, international assets, and intergenerational wealth. Throughout her career, Roja has represented clients in high-profile and complex disputes before all levels of court in British Columbia, as well as in mediation and arbitration. Her experience as a litigator informs her approach to collaborative practice, allowing her to help clients understand their legal rights, assess their options, and work toward practical, durable resolutions. Roja believes that, wherever possible, family law disputes are best resolved outside the courtroom. She recognizes the emotional and financial toll that litigation can take on families and is committed to helping clients navigate separation with dignity, transparency, and mutual respect. She approaches each matter with a focus on finding thoughtful, creative solutions tailored to the unique needs and priorities of the individuals and families involved. Roja is a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals and Collaborative Divorce Vancouver.
