GENERAL COMMENTS

I am an experienced family lawyer, Collaborative Divorce practitioner, and an accredited Family Law Mediator. I completed my Collaborative Law training in 2015 and was certified by the Law Society of BC as a Family Law Mediator in 2018. I advise, represent, and mediate for clients on a variety of family law issues including: cohabitation agreements; marriage/prenuptial agreements; separation and divorce; child custody, guardianship, and parenting arrangements; child support; spousal support; division of property and debts; family violence protection orders; adoption; and fertility law/assisted reproduction. I also assist mothers without immigration status in Canada with applications for permanent residency on Humanitarian and Compassionate grounds where they are facing possible deportation as a result of a separation. I believe that the vast majority of people are best served by addressing family law issues outside of court. The focus of my practice is on helping clients to reach agreements through non-adversarial processes such as negotiation, mediation, and the Collaborative Divorce process. I appreciate that for many people, it can be difficult to afford a lawyer. I am committed to making my services accessible to as many people as possible regardless of ability to pay. I reserve a portion of my time for representing clients at reduced fees based on a "sliding scale". I also offer fixed or flat fees and unbundled (limited representation) in appropriate cases.
