I was born and raised in Vancouver, and have been practicing Family Law in British Columbia since my call to the Bar in 1982. After many years of litigating family matters at all levels of the Canadian court system, I strongly believe that the non-court Collaborative approach can bring significant benefits to the parties and their families. It allows for individuals to play a far greater role in their settlement, and assists people in building or maintaining lines of communication which should benefit the entire family. I qualified as a Family Law Mediator in 1986. I have been an instructor with the Professional Legal Training Course for lawyers, and lectured with the Law Courts Education Society. I am a founding member of the Vancouver Collaborative Group and have successfully worked with most of the members of our group over the past 12 years that I have been handling Collaborative cases. I am currently serving on the Board of Directors.

I am an active parent of two children and strongly believe that the financial and emotional costs of litigating matrimonial disputes can and should be avoided if at all possible.
