I have been practicing family law since 2002 - originally at Karen Nordlinger and Associates, a small familiy law litigation boutique, and since 2010 with the firm Aaron Gordon Daykin Nordlinger LLP. I have and still do litigate family law issues when necessary. The more of this work I do, the stronger I believe that Collaborative Divorce is a better option for the majority of people. The court system is an extremely poor system for families in transition, and often leaves them financially and emotionally devastated. Family law is not just about dollars and cents or about counting days of the week. It is about past and future relationships, families, and children. In the Collaborative process, mutual and individual goals and fears are considered and given value. In my experience the process is not only more efficient and less costly, but also much healthier for families.
